The Editor and the Working Party of Current Applied Science and Technology Attending the Meeting Regarding the Project Entitled “The System Development and Quality Improvement of Scopus-Indexed Thai journals, Phase 2.”

    Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre, Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), Science Technology and Innovation Policy Institute (STIPI) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, and National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) jointly organized the meeting regarding the project entitled “The System Development and Quality Improvement of Scopus-Indexed Thai journals, Phase 2” on Friday, 24 February 2023 during 08.30-16.30 hrs. at Mandarin Bangkok Hotel. Eighty-four editors and working parties from 48 scholarly journals attended the meeting. Professor Dr. Narongrit Sombatsompop opened the meeting and reported the principle, necessity, and rationale of the project, including a management plan and expectations from the 48 journals. The project aimed to 1) increase Scopus-indexed articles as well as the development of qualified researchers in charge of editorship, authorship, and reviewership, 2) upgrade the quartile of a Scopus-indexed Thai journal to Q1 and Q2, and 3) develop and improve the system related to the development of quality research articles in Scopus-indexed Thai journals. At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Teerasak Markpin reported conditions and guidelines of TSRI and TCI scholarships as well as the use of Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for the 48 scholarly journals. Then, Dr. Krit Nasingkhan reported the problem of the ThaiES implementation. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Narongrit Sombatsompop and the TCI working party led the discussion session with journal editors and working parties about problems of journal management system, namely ThaiJO, and ThaiES systems and DOI, and guidelines for solving the problems as well as the development of the system for quality enhancement.
